[0:00]  all right guys welcome back to another episode of the heart and hustle podcast incredibly selfish today this is 100 for me and not for you guys at all I've got Chase Campos in front of me this kid is a financial educator he is literally a grinder and I'm so excited to first of all catch up with you because you and I haven't talked in so long you know what I mean so Chase bro what's been going on since we talked last man man a whole bunch of things so let's think back I mean the last time we really you know hung out and kind of talked to each other was like 2019 yeah you know what I mean so I mean just since then I you know back then I was working two jobs and everything and 20 20 when the pandemic hit and everything that's kind of when I bet on myself and kind of stop

[0:47]  going to to work for you know the trucking company and I used to work at drays and everything down here at the strip but um since then I moved to Virginia I started the financial services business when I was in Virginia I did um door-to-door sales that was definitely an experience and then working for an online trading company right now as well so that's like the dream come true the ultimate one right there I mean you've just been so financially sharp the entire time I've known you and to think about that was four years ago like it's crazy not how only you know much you've filled out bro you're looking good thanks bro but like you filled out in your life experience as well absolutely so before we get into you know the hustle the drive everything you've been doing give us a little bit of background where does the I don't want to say this in a negative way but where does the

[1:33]  chip on your shoulder come from and like why you're so driven to work at drays to be working on the other jobs to be working hours other people aren't willing to do where does all that come from yeah man I mean it starts from being raised by a single mother right my dad was not in my life at whatsoever was on drugs you know what I mean the hard ones yeah in and out stayed at my grandma's I've saw them once in a while but like didn't have a father figure in my life whatsoever you know what I mean so I was raised by women and like I said I was raised by a single woman who you know she had three kids and I played football my sister sane choir and she you know my brother played lacrosse and she just made it happen you know at the end of the day but when I was 18 like right when I graduated my mom said my mom said this ain't the Hilton you know there's no

[2:19]  inheritance here so you got to go get yours right so you know that's when I was just trying to my first job was at Smith's and I always wanted to make more money right I think everybody wants to do that and you know take the step up but then I started to get into like the like the uh restaurant industry and things like that and that was fun that was a good gig and then when I turned 21 I went before 21 I actually started working with my mom at a trucking company right so that's kind of where the the grind really started um first job I had to wake up at five o'clock in the morning in B2 and I remember sitting there on the couch I was still living at home and I was like damn my mom told me you know sometimes you got to do things you don't want to do and then from that day forward it was just like better get my ass up and you know go to work be there on time you

[3:06]  know five o'clock turned to 4 30 4 30 turned to two two turned to 1 30. right so I was working at that trucking company had to be at work at 1 30. not driving to work I had to be at work at 1 30. so I was you know set getting up at one o'clock but that's where really that grind came from and then obviously it was it was cool I was making good money and everything driving a forklift and whatnot but then a friend of mine he kind of got me a job at Dre's and I was just like the Hustler like you said working two jobs was doing that sometimes I would work 130 to you know like 12 1 o'clock in the afternoon I'd have a banquet at Dre's at four o'clock worked there until midnight have to be at Estes back at 1 30. I would I would go literally sleep in my like in

[3:54]  in the parking lot like for 30 minutes and then start all over again so I mean that's that's where the hustle really comes from but the entire time that I was doing that I've been day trading since 2016. like that's where I planted my flag I got it was like one of those network marketing companies I saw my friend he posted a uh a picture on Instagram and he like made 300 bucks in a day and I was like whatever whatever you're doing I want to do because that was what I made two weeks at the restaurant I was working at yeah so I mean just got connected with the right people the Restless history you know you plant your flag with something and you know here I am today is kind of crazy dog there's so much to break down there I mean the fact that you came from humble beginnings right your mom establishes the mindset of sometimes we gotta do what we don't want to do right for a lot of us that is a

[4:41]  really tough pill to swallow you know a lot of us aren't prepared to like swallow that pill either and so how do you kind of come across like moments of adversity where you realize like [ __ ] I'm about to be in this grind for a minute and then how do you keep your mentality and your mindset in check so you can like show up every day as like your best self I mean you gotta have a a big why at the end of the day you know you got to know what you're doing it for so like when I was you know hustling and grinding and doing the things I didn't want to do it was all for the trading you know what I mean I I understood quickly in that industry that you're not gonna be Warren Buffett overnight you know putting a hundred dollars in an account you know what I mean trying to trade that like the people who are making you know good amount of money day trading it's not easy let's start there but you have to

[5:29]  have the leverage in your account you know what I mean we're talking like to come like a dream 100 000 account you know what I mean then you're good you can use proper risk management you don't have to over leverage you know what I mean but that was always the goal you know whatever I can do to you know if I gotta grind work two jobs to you know fund that account that was literally what I was going to do but I guess that's that's you know where it started and then of course wanting to give back to my mom you know I I traveled a lot when I was early on when I graduated I've been to 19 countries um and I just remember when I was in Greece sending our pictures like that was the one place Santorini like she wanted to go so just give him back like I said my mom did a lot for us being you know a single mom and you know I was I want to be able to you know be her retirement at the end of the day you

[6:16]  know make a casita in the back of my house or something like that so it definitely starts with you know why you're doing it at the end of the day which is cliche at the end of the day but it really is true like if you don't have something that you're waking up for every single day to to grind after then you know what I mean it's it's gonna feel unfulfilling and it's just gonna be you going through the motions at the end of the day you know what I mean I mean that's the biggest kind of I want to call it like an Extinction event that I see with so many people it's like we do [ __ ] that other people tell us we should be doing but we're not truly passionate about it have you had moments where you started to go down the path of like pursuing different stuff but it just didn't feel right from like an alignment internal position oh absolutely so that's when you say that nothing against my door knocking guys right absolutely

[7:03]  love them some of my best friends are are still there some of the dopest people you know hard working and that's another thing that just You Gotta Be You know a different person to do that industry as well too but that wasn't that wasn't what I was supposed to be doing at all I did that one summer right when when we talked about it um when you saw me in Virginia but it just wasn't fulfilling you know I was you know selling bug spray at the end of the day which people need it out in Virginia don't get me wrong it is a it's super easy buggy spot I mean it's a forest in Virginia but coming from you know Las Vegas we're in a desert you don't really see that many bugs but that was just like okay like you know I'm selling a service but I'm getting rid of people's bugs you know what I mean like I could be serving so much deeper than just that you know um so going there I was feeling like not

[7:52]  that I took a step back but it took a lot of time like I said that's a grind where we were up at you know nine o'clock you had to be at the doors by like 9 30 and then you're knocking till nine o'clock right yes so I mean it was that's what I'm saying it's a grind and you know you're getting told no all day long people answering the door let me guess bugs you know what I mean like you're just getting punched in in in in the chin constantly you know but so it's it's a lot of mental and I mean I'm grateful for it at the end of the day like I said but that's kind of what I felt like and then of course oh my gosh the trucking company like when I started it was because I needed a job right and then it was what my mom was doing and it was cool but I always knew that that was not for me whatsoever I saw the and again you know I love those

[8:40]  family you know that I had there and everything like that but what really struck struck me was one of one of the workers right he had worked there like 30 years and we all had like huddled around and they gave him like a watch right yeah three years into me working there I was about capped out on you know my wages like you know I getting raises every year and then you get the cost of living raise yeah but I was making what this guy was making working there 30 years yep so I was like bro I was 22 years old and I was like this can't be it I mean I'm in a a warehouse a box you know what I mean driving Freight into trailers I'm God didn't put me on on this planet to just be confined like that you know

[9:29]  what I mean so every single day it's funny podcast in my ear on the forklifts just like listening to you know things to get my mindset right to keep me pushing like knowing that I'm on the right path but yeah those two things probably the most that I was doing something that I knew was not what I was supposed to be doing at the end of the day yeah I had a similar experience I talked about this often I had a this I called the Dion experience so 2013 I'm 23 years old I'm working in the back of a warehouse moving office furniture tables and stuff like this road and we had the same experience everybody comes together at the end of the day Dion looks at me we get one of our checks and he's like how much you make this time I've shown my check he's like oh you're not making enough but just hold on until next year and they're going to give you that pay raise that bump and in my head it was like somebody turned the [ __ ]

[10:18]  lights on in this place I was like I'm not going to be the 43 year old dude who's talking to other 20 something year olds and telling them just hold on a little bit longer so like what was that experience kind of like for you mentally when you have that moment of realization because I feel like other people who are listening to the podcast or watching the podcast are going to be like I found myself in a position like that before so like what was this experience like because I still remember seeing being there standing looking at Dion to my right and wondering what's next what was that like for you I mean just knowing that like you you can do so much more than this not that it was you know a bad place to be because people are paying their bills people are supporting their family with that but just you know having to go to work every

[11:07]  day but knowing in the back of your head like this that's that's the fire at least it was for me you know and how I kind of you know kept the drive going was personal development at the end of the day I mean consistently consistently I'm a big Eric Thomas like I told you you know I didn't have a father I literally I joke around I say et's my dad like literally E.T is my dad like because once I found him and went down the rabbit hole good riddance and what's funny is I found him like my first it's funny and I'm Looking Back Now I I found him the like the first week I got solo on my my own forklift right so I'm going on and like uh iTunes and stuff like that and looking up all this stuff and then I didn't even know he had a podcast and then it was just game of rest it was history with that dude then I'm like up to speed I'm waiting every Thursday for

[11:55]  the new one to drop and yeah so that that would be feeding yourself with you know positive you know information and things that are gonna you know drive you to become better yeah like this podcast I mean like the thing that I worry about for so many people is I talk a lot about kind of like our mental diet a lot of people don't really pay attention to the things that they consume which is just like I mean I'm happy to talk about it but it's like yo we consume so much stuff from Instagram perceptions of other people someone giving us prescriptions to being like if you want to be successful and happy do this kind of stuff without having enough awareness to realize that maybe that's just not for you yeah so how do you feel about kind of the mental diet and why it's so important I think it's huge because people in our day and age and around our age it's like

[12:44]  yep that's all it is literally all it is and what's funny is when I was working at that forklift company what app got created Instagram tick tock tick tock tick tock right that's the worst thing that I've ever seen I got I'll call friends and I'm like oh what are you doing oh just got getting off work probably gonna go home you know Chill on Tick Tock yeah veg waste my life you know what I mean but it what's crazy is you don't know you don't even know where I really found where there's a problem is you know on your iPhone when it says we're used to at least I don't know if it does anymore how much screen time you're using yeah people are on their phone a part-time job you know what I mean like nine hours literally a part-time job and people think it's funny and they don't like to

[13:31]  step back and look at themselves in the mirror and be like damn like how much time am I spending on my phone whether it's listening to good things whether you're looking up dinner recipes or whatever you know what I mean but we get consumed in that and like you said a lot of you know whatever the algorithm is but you get put a lot of things in front of you and then the attention span of these videos and it's just crazy I think it's a a really fine line of healthy and unhealthy because it's fantastic for business and what we do right but at the end of the day you have to be very selective with your time on it and I think that's the part that people neglect and they don't like to look at and it's like oh I don't have a problem like it's not that bad but it's like people really do have a problem with that stuff at the end of

[14:19]  the day so yeah I mean and for me and you it's like we we go on there and where do I see Eric Thomas and Ed my lad and things like that that we follow and we like but other people it's just literally nonsense yeah cat videos and people making you know funny memes and stuff like that and some of it negative you know some of it mean and you know so you got to be really selective with the the videos that you watch on there as well too I think it's really important to be uh have enough self-awareness to be able to audit our time and when you get into the world of Instagram of social media of spending so much time on our phone some of that time kind of disappears and so when I hear people be like well I just don't have enough time to do this even in like the sales process you know what I'm saying like people are like I just don't have enough time but it's like we all have the same amount of time it's about

[15:06]  eliminating the time that you're spending on stuff that doesn't matter and putting it towards stuff that does you know what I'm saying I saw this article the other day and it was terrifying but it was like if you waste five minutes a day on Instagram or Tick Tock by the end of the year you're wasting two weeks of time and when he Quantified it like that I was like what you like through your phone like five minutes goes by like that yeah but like I feel like one of the biggest problems that I've you know kind of internally recognized is the older I get the faster time moves years go by it's already like I'm looking at my camera calendar next week somebody was like Hey You Gotta hop on the podcast pick a date I look at the date it's May 12th yeah like bro it's the fifth month of 2023 and I feel like it just got here I did and I don't know if it's just like the overall relevance and my ability to kind of look at time in shorter periods

[15:55]  because like when you're five years old a year goes by that's a fifth of your life that's a ton of time by the time you're 30 you know what I'm saying like that's a tiny bit of your life it only gets smaller and smaller but when we have the tools like Instagram Tick Tock these things that pull for our attention so much more time goes by because we don't pay attention to what's going on we're not like actively listening actively present in the moment and so if you're trying to accomplish big stuff like you are and I want to get into kind of what your bigger dreams are if you're wasting time [ __ ] around on Instagram and Tick Tock looking at people just like dance around half naked and do different stuff you're literally putting all of your time into a Bucky you can never get back and that's terrifying yeah exactly and I think you said another thing too it's just like the what's promoted on there a lot like you said is you know women in bikinis and things like that and it's just like

[16:41]  you know is that healthy for your relationship if you're in one you know what I mean is that what do you think I mean it was brought to my attention that it's like it is like giving that validation you know what I mean at the end of the day it is regardless of if you think oh they're my friend or not it is 100 yeah so yes you know it it it it can be avoided but you know that's a discussion you know with with your partner at the end of the day if like if it really truly does bother them then guess what don't hit the like button yeah it's as simple as that you still look at the picture you know what I mean like a digital Trail exactly yeah but yeah that's where I think about that yeah I mean it's very tough because we're in a

[17:28]  complete we're in uh Foreign Waters you know what I'm saying like nobody from a previous generation can give us advice on how we navigate these Waters because they were never here right and the time is different yeah attention is different the Instagram the influence all this kind of stuff everything's different you know what I'm saying yeah so I mean it's just uh it's wild but I want to transition the conversation so pandemic 2020. me and you last time we saw each other was in 2019 yeah you decide to make the big jump from the outside looking in where I'm gonna be in Vegas now I'm going to Virginia yeah so why and wasn't that [ __ ] scary 100 and you know just to backtrack a little bit before that 2019 it's crazy right before the pandemic I got like like I said Matt was maxed out with my my razors right making I think

[18:16]  it was like 24 an hour or something like that but um then I moved into you know my first apartment okay and then I was pandemic hit and then I was literally forced to go to that job Dre's got taken away from me so now that was really my social life was dreads you know being in that kind of you know environment having those kind of co-workers right I'm working with you know people who are like 50 years old at the warehouse and whatnot you know but so I was forced to to stay at that job and that's really when it bugged the hell out of me like it it was a burning desire to leave that no matter what that's when I got introduced to the financial business but also made a commitment to already go out and and door knock to one of my buddies right so I started the financial business did

[19:04]  really well initially um and then just kind of put it on the back burner because I made that commitment I'm a man of my word right but then yeah I mean after three years quit the forklift job and well after my lease was up of course you know moved to Virginia and was going out on a limp you know I I decided to literally bet on myself because I was always the hardest worker whether it was at the the the trucking company you know we had like load bars basically you can stack and everything I'd pick up like three of them and they'd make fun of me for doing that you know working too hard yeah working too hard you know but we're at Dre's first year I worked there got promoted you know so that's something I pride myself on and I needed to do something that was Performance Based so that's why I started in the financial industry because highest

[19:51]  commission earning industry in the country you know what I mean and then also doing the door-to-door sales I saw there's no lie to it you know what I mean there's money in indoor-to-door sales you know what I mean it's just you have to be a dog and my friend was a dog he went out there his first summer made over like six figures and I was like sign me up yeah I want to test that out you know so yeah I mean it was scary but ultimately what was scarier was staying at that job for 40 years so that's why I had to take a chance and bet on myself and went out there to Virginia ship my car literally packed up my entire you know how or apartment put some stuff in my grandma's garage and stuff and just went went out there and you know started my my journey from there on so how do you muster up the courage to do that

[20:38]  because I know so many other people are like I have this internal drive that is not in alignment with what I'm doing today I need to get out of here but how do you have the conversations with yourself are you talking to other people around you talking to your moms what was it like it was it was you have to be so sick and tired of being sick and tired right the money was cool I was making money I was you know living on my own doing my thing but I was so miserable doing working at that job but my biggest thing and there's nothing wrong with jobs right but I just knew that I was capable of doing something greater right in in working for myself and that's what you kind of have to have the conversation with yourself with in the mirrors it's like am I going to go get a better job and something that I'm happier with or

[21:26]  whatnot or am I gonna create the job for myself you know and that's what I ended up kind of deciding to do because there's there's ways to make money at the end of the day there you don't need to work at the forklift you don't need to go to the clubs and you know work at Dre's like there's tons of ways to you know make money in the world but like I said you just have to you have to be tired of your situation like I was there three years waking up 1 30 in the morning I was tired mentally physically you know emotionally like just done drained I would try to hang out with friends on Friday but I just worked from 1 30 you know what I mean I'm still young at the time so I'd go out you know drink blah blah blah and then you know I'm up for damn near 24 hours and sometimes I would go to like UFC fights

[22:14]  with friends I'm falling asleep on the couch like that wasn't I wasn't present I wasn't you know being a good friend you know so that's what I was tired with and I think that's what people have to you know come to the conclusion is is I'm just done doing this and I'm willing to try other things and that's another big thing is you have to be willing to try those things because like I said they're out there yeah I mean that willingness in itself is something that I think a lot of people can get to but often it's very tough to pull the trigger you know what I'm saying like I can't tell you I'm one of my favorite people we talk about this for opt on is Alex tremozzi he was like you can learn how to do anything proficiently in 20 hours of work the problem is people wait years to start that first hour you know what I'm saying oh yeah so good

[23:02]  and it's like so good so but you know for everybody who's listening it's like how do you actually pull the trigger do you know what I'm saying like it's one thing to talk about and be sick of what you're doing but like the moment of taking that leap across the barrier to this new experience this new version of yourself is incredibly scary so how did you handle that confidence in myself and and that's that's ultimately what it's got to come down to it was like you could talk to whoever you want like you say you're your best friend your mom your dad but if you don't have the confidence in internally to know that I'm Gonna Make It Happen yeah like I'm gonna pay for my I still had bills you know what I mean rent wasn't my only Bill when I went to Virginia like I still had to make money yeah but yeah just just understanding that like you you can make it happen like when your back's against the wall that's kind of when you're the best

[23:50]  version of yourself at the end of the day too and it's scary to think about that but that's that's the the you know double-edged sword you know that people kind of deal with well I'm comfortable but it's just like I know I want to do this and I want to try so you have to you have to have the confidence and I think that's comes from just working on yourself at the end of the day yeah you know I mean but what we're talking about here is easy for someone who has done it right who's been there but people who haven't done it before it's just scary yeah you know what I mean and so the one thing I think about is like the difference of being resourceful for other people and being resourceful for yourself you know what I mean an example is if you've ever been in a situation where you've got rent due you've got a bill to get paid it's magical how quickly you can start becoming that dog inside you go out

[24:38]  gather resources and make sure that your electricity doesn't get cut off but often people don't do that for their own dreams their own passions which is terrifying and I think it kind of puts us in a place of a dichotomy of like you know what you have to do but why aren't you doing the work you know what I'm saying so like who what what's Chase's perspective on the common man who's just not doing it like do they need to get in a worse situation do they really need to hit rock bottom before they pull the trigger well I guess that's what you know people say is like you need to to hit rock bottom but I mean I don't know like I sound like a broken record but you know you just have to make a decision you know that like I said like you're just you're over it you're you're ready for something new and it can be scary but what other options do you have at the end of the

[25:26]  day yeah you know like are you gonna keep doing it or not and and it's that it's that simple at the end of the day are you gonna stay you know unhealthy and you know look in the mirror and be upset about yourself or are you going to do something different about it it it's the same thing with our dreams and goals right they're they're right there for the taking but you have to take that first step even if it is scary like you have to kind of quiet the noise in your head and just do it which is it sounds like you said easier said than done but when we're talking about reality what do you have to do yeah just do it right like you let it go let the job go quit the job put your two weeks in figure it out obviously have something

[26:14]  else lined up you know what I mean don't try to like pay for your electricity you know I mean people you know go to garage sales and do stuff like that if that's what you got to do that's what you got to do yeah you know but I think not a lot of people have the drive or even think outside the box like that until they hit rock bottom yeah you're not totally agree yeah and I think you know one thing that you just talked about as well that I think is really relevant to bring up for the audience is getting comfortable with the potential of being told no and naturally when I think of being told no I think of roles and responsibilities like going out and doing door knocking every single day so oh my God what was your relationship like with no and rejection before that happened and then what kind of lessons did you learn did you have a pivotal moment in the very beginning and

[27:00]  I was like damn this is gonna be hard I mean what was that like being told no beforehand I mean that didn't really bother me and I starting in the trading company in the trading industry like eight years ago and everything like that it was one of those network marketing companies and stuff like that so I've gone through the arena of you know being told no before door-to-door like you said is a completely different Beast so I mean you go there in majority of your day is literally being told no and like you know you might get three sales that's a good day and you're knocking on a whole neighborhood like this yeah literally like like I said nine to nine that you're knocking so understanding that in that field it's a part of the game you know having really

[27:48]  good leaders and you know good trainers to you know get you in that's mental you know that's all mental just to kind of brush it off you know people like I said will be mean open the door oh you're literally the fifth person today okay knock on my door hey it's just my job have a good one you know what I mean simple as that like and once you get into that Rhythm and that routine that it's just my job that's what I really I do embody was you are knocking on you know somebody's door and you're you know middle of the day they're working you know what I mean like some people work from home or whatever babies are sleeping and whatnot but just my job you know and and really getting into to that that mindset of it though yeah I mean like from my

[28:34]  perspective that's one of the most valuable skills that you can really acquire is being okay with being told no oh yeah absolutely because like in business in general right they say nine out of ten people aren't going to do business with you and you have to run through the 90 of those people to find your 10 who align with what you're doing yeah you know what I mean but like that is a huge process of desensitization that I think is so vital but it doesn't just talk about in like business but it's also from like a personal development perspective which will put you light years ahead of other people because we have so many internal conversations with ourselves where it's like I don't want to be rejected I don't want to look stupid I don't want to have this person tell me no but when you position it in the right way and have that mindset that is like unbreakable you can become an absolute Savage at whatever you're doing oh dude and that's that's what once you do that that's when you you you start to really you know break barrier

[29:22]  barriers in that industry right of door knocking right just you know somebody being told you know no well I mean everyone's gonna tell you no do a door knocker you know in a solicitor or the first go-around but you know being able to really roll that and pinpoint you know do they have it you know an interest do they have a need do they you know have bugs or you know solar or you know whatever it may be but you know really rolling those initial ones and you know just keep keeping going through your process at the end of the day yeah I mean it opens up new doors and new versions of ourselves what I think is really important to recognize so from 2019 to the point where we're doing the door-to-door stuff what do you think was the biggest character trait that kind of transformed in you or you developed or had new doors open inside you that you

[30:10]  didn't know was it your willingness to kind of face adversity nose to nose moving to a new state surrounding yourself with new people New Opportunities like what was your biggest like maturation process now that you look back at the time I think I'll have the above but the biggest thing I took from that was realizing that I could make it happen you know what I mean left it came to you know Virginia putting myself in a complete like you said different state moved across the country like literally never never done that I moved across the world before but I mean I moved across the country like and was packed up and like I said I was at a point where I did have bills at that point in my life and you know I had to have to make it happen but

[30:57]  uh and you know like you said that face-to-face kind of not Comfort confrontation but you know learning how to deal with people better and you know becoming a Salesman you know at the end of the day because that is in hand even though you know I educate that my whole base is with my financial business is to educate people ultimately sales at the end of the day you know I'm trying to you know see where I can help you but I think that kind of sharpened the the sword a little bit when I came back to do that um but yeah I mean when I when from that time 19 did the door knocking trusting trusting in myself and knowing that oh yeah I I can do this and you know you do have that dog inside you to

[31:45]  you know make it happen with you know your bills whatever to continue to grow on that as well too and I I think that was the the most beneficial thing because you know here we are talking today and you know all the things we will you know get into but you know I haven't had to look back you know and that's that's been the biggest thing was you know really believing in myself yeah I mean realizing that you can go Toe to Toe with anybody when yourself is in the fight and you're fighting along with me and myself and I yes you know really impressive you know what I'm saying and that's a big I would say kind of transition that a lot of people need to make is realizing you don't need the world of support around you if you're willing to spend the time put in the effort and Learn by doing which is something that I hear consistently in the things you're talking about and you can really level up you know what I'm saying nothing can really stop you yeah

[32:32]  I just love you know your mentality because you have so much and I say this all the time lived experience is the thing that makes the biggest difference right you can't learn about doing push-ups by reading about push-ups you learn by doing this exactly exactly so what I want to do is transition the conversation now that we have a good understanding of your background your lived experience into something that you've been passionate about since the jump when I met you financial literacy what is going on in the world of finance and what are you teaching people today because the one thing I recognize is they didn't teach us [ __ ] about finances when we came up in school no one taught you how to balance a checkbook no one taught you about investment strategy nobody told you about anything like that so what is your kick on finance and why do you realize it's so important because it's everything so that's exactly what I

[33:20]  do is I teach people the things that we should have learned when we were in high school right how retirement planning Works uh you know college funds for our kids you know proper protection for you know ourself and our homes and things like that um you know getting out of debt budgeting you know um really all of those things so that's that's the the whole basis of it and you know seeing where I can help anybody in those areas but again it came through me not growing up with money like my mom didn't necessarily choose a job for financial welfare success at the end of the day working at that Trucking Company yeah we were fine I had things you know new cleats like I said played football gloves whatever I didn't have the extra stuff you know what I mean so knowing a little bit like I'm grateful for my mom and you know I do look up to

[34:09]  my mom in in certain ways as the person she is inside and out but the the route with you know the finances I just you know I wanted to do something a little bit more with that you know and that's kind of what got me into It ultimately and then like I said in the beginning was I got into trading before I even got into you know financial services and doing things like that for people so I knew the the importance of making your money work for you you know early on and then getting into you know financial literacy I mean if you if you just start saving for your retirement when you're in your 20s you're going to be a lot better you know well off than if you start when you're in your 40s and you haven't thought about it for 20 years

[34:56]  you know and it's it's no it's not rocket science you know compound interest is is your best friend at the end of the day so you got to start it quick yeah I mean something that inspired me to bring this point up is you know I think a lot of us who are in this generation today look at our parents and I think at some point in time we have conversations with ourselves and realizing that like these people aren't the perfect version of a human that we once thought they were right and when it comes to doing things about like planning financially a lot of our parents didn't have the skill set or the knowledge base to make good decisions right you know what I'm saying and so it's like our job is this generation to be observers and not only to live or learn through our lived experience but learn through the experiences of our family right you know what I'm saying exactly and it's like I think so many people need to take their

[35:43]  financial literacy and understanding about how they can start setting up a foundation so much earlier oh absolutely I'm going to Pivot the conversation into something else that really bothers me today because of social media and everything else like that when people start making the smallest amount of money it seems like we have these social drivers and almost internal expectations that we need to start like flexing on people yes so why do you think that is and why do you think it's so detrimental to your long-term success social media because you're trying to keep up with the facade of what you think you know all these accounts like Rich lifestyle or you know whatever whatever these you know who's running these accounts and they're posting pictures of you know uh May Box and you know mansions and things like that you yes you want those things but at the end of the day you you really don't need

[36:30]  that and is that what you want or is that just what you see and that's what you know people are posting on on your on your Instagram and stuff like that so I think that's where people get carried away is trying to you know do things that other people are doing or doing what's trendy you know what I mean buying the the shoes buying the you know the watches or the the name brand things like it really doesn't matter and you could what's funny is what they teach you is like you know what it's natural that when you start to make more money your bills get higher too right lifestyle inflation but you can what do they tell you live below your means and it's very true I mean you you could pay your bills and you know drive the car that you want and travel and invest and still

[37:19]  not need any of those extra you know things that that people think are important at the end of the day and I think that's the thing is just like there's a heavy importance on that stuff right now in today's day and age and unfortunately even though this stuff's nice do you I mean you drive a nice car you know what I mean like that's my dream car you know the model X and everything like that but it's like in due time you know I don't need to you know put myself under water to you know make it look like I'm making more money than I really am because who am I helping at the end of the day you know my friends being like Oh I got a cool car and it's like but you know I'm I'm Check to Check ever you know every month like yeah so you know that's that's where it is I think it all just comes from you know social media and

[38:06]  people's friends and music and you know things like that yeah I mean so many influences kind of goes back to that mental diet right making sure that we pay attention to the things that we're consuming and we're not turning into a version of what we eat every single day let me tell you something that's very scary okay and this is my personal experience for the early years in my entrepreneurial journey I always thought that the item the car as an example was going to be the moment where I was like I did it in that moment of like dopamine releases like oh my God this feels so good but let me tell you what when you do get those things they don't feel as good as you think yeah and I had a conversation with Dante my best friend about this I was like bro so got the car let me tell you what was scary it showed up and I didn't feel any different and

[38:53]  so it's like everybody who's out there kind of chasing the material the bag the wallet the watch the whip the whatever you can get it but odds are it is not going to fill that hole inside you and that is a scary feeling I swear to God because you know I think about you like you talk about financial education you talk about financial literacy all the time and when you pulled up today I was like dude this kid's still whipping the Mustang same thing I was like oh my God this guy is living what he teaches bro you know what I'm saying so it's like have you had an experience where you put that goal post in front of you to go get an item go get something do something and experience you got it and then all of a sudden it was like [ __ ] maybe this was a mistake oh um when I was working at the trucking company moving out probably you know one

[39:43]  in my own place so I can bring girls back blah blah blah whatever that stretched me you know what I mean like that that made it a little bit tight when it didn't need to be I could have just you know sucked it up and just stayed at my mom's and saved a lot more money and invested it properly and even had more you know Capital right now you know so that right there was like it was cool but like I said it was cool to what extent I had his friends coming over and I had a cool pad but at the end of every month I was just like you know a little bit tight definitely wasn't worth it compared to you know what I mean betting on I just think people get get so caught up in the things with me it was just like I ultimately wanted just the freedom yeah I just wanted to be able to wake up and go to the gym when I want to go to the

[40:30]  stairs and run them when I want to come hang out with a buddy and do his podcast when I want to and not be like oh well you know I got to be at Dre's at you know four o'clock for a banquet you know I just think that the the freedom is so much more delicious than like you said those those things when you get there and it's just like ah you know it's it's just that you know it's just there like you said it's just a car at the end of the day you know so I mean it's a big part of the maturation process in my opinion do you know what I'm saying I feel like so many of us make these short-term decisions because we want to flex for people and then when I look back on the times when I was flexing for other people it's like nobody even remembers that yeah you know what I'm saying and I wish I was in a better Capital position to go all in when things really mattered but now I can't go as heavy because I [ __ ] around and got a thousand dollar table

[41:19]  at Commonwealth downtown Vegas or we spent 3 500 me and the homies to go get a table four bottles of liquor and then we don't even remember it yeah you know what I'm saying it's like that in itself is a big realization for me um and I feel like so many people today are almost like subconsciously struggling with the idea of I need to have the bag I get the bag it's not as fulfilling I need to find another bag to go get and like that process in itself kind of brings the burn out that I think so many people talk about burnout for me is not showing up every single day and putting your passion into something and working too much it's being in misalignment with like what really matters to me and taking energy from the other areas of my life to pursue things that don't matter Instagram follows everything else like that yeah I talk to so many people these days who are content creators and they're like I get

[42:06]  so burnt out creating content and I'm like do you enjoy doing what you do right and they're like well I wish I had more likes and I had this kind of stuff and it's like okay well maybe you're not doing this for the right purpose then you know what I'm saying so it's like when I see you talk about financial literacy I see you hop up on my stories and I see you doing your EA events every single what Thursday Fridays uh Monday nights and Friday morning all right so Monday nights and Friday mornings I'm like dude this kid looks passionate about what he's talking about because it's in alignment with 100 you know what I'm saying yeah so I think like hat goes off to you for finding that so early because I know a whole bunch of 45 year old people who are still lost out here hunting you know what I'm saying trying to find happiness but they can't find it and and that's what you know I just I truly feel blessed you know and everything's Divine you know God's got his you know his planning and his timing for everybody but I know what it was and

[42:55]  I think it was you know me trying things and getting putting myself out there to meet the right people to put me in positions where I'm working for the company that I'm working for to try and you know just say oh yeah I'll I'll give that a shot for the you know the fine I like Finance you know what I mean I'll give this a shot too Financial Service whatever it is and you know just just trying things at the end of the day really and something that you talked about there which was incredibly important to me which is that sense of Freedom yes you know what I'm saying so you know me for being big and like the mental health mental Wellness space and the thing I talk about a lot is your lifestyle in itself should engineer your ability to be free and go do the things that you want a lot of people don't experience that no so what was it like from like a de-stressor mindset perspective when you finally got free

[43:44]  and you had the ability to do kind of whatever you wanted did you like have a moment of like sitting back yes I I felt like I had made it for you know what I mean and and not financially of course because there's you know things that you know like I said you know there's there's bigger true things that I want to do which you know we'll get into and stuff like that but like I said it was just like wow me and my best friend Joey we used to talk about how you know one day all we want to do is just you know be able to go to the gym when we want to go to the gym and you know you know coach football yes he has kids and whatever but um yeah I mean just when I moved into just this condo that I'm running right now I kind of had that realization I moved in and I was just like wow like you know I've got the freedom like I I'm not owning the condo I don't own you

[44:33]  know a home or anything like that but it's just like I've got home I've got my car you know what I mean I've got my my investments that I you know do on a monthly basis I've got you know the the the time freedom and that is the biggest thing for me ultimately like we talked about being able to really truly do the things that that I want to do and obviously you know making sure that you're in a in a field where you can still make money because you know money is not everything but it definitely is important it's damn close right so um but yeah I mean that that just this this year really honestly just I moved in there um February so I mean I moved I lived with like roommates before when I got back from Virginia but and that was kind of just like oh wow and you know

[45:21]  even my best friend you know he's you know runs you know Circa and everything like that but just looking back to our conversation and being like Dan he even told me he's like you know you got to step back and really realize what you've done because you are living like what we talked about you know and that just even like lit the fire even more you know just to you know double down on you know myself again so yeah it almost like you're not gonna say this to be weird but it almost like makes me kind of emotional you know what I mean because it's like dude we work so hard to get where we want to get to and it is so important to appreciate the moments where you can actually step back and breathe yeah there's a there's a really good book it's somewhere on my shelf it's uh the Gap in the game where it talks about like a high achiever's mindset is a wonderful thing to have but you can also fall victim to that mindset

[46:09]  and what he talks about is often the high achiever we sit at a point in time and we look towards the horizon or our next goal for what we want to accomplish and we're always chasing that goal once we get it we look up again and we never really take the time to look at the gain that's behind us and you never look at the levels that you've already counted you know it's like how long until I get to the end yeah like sometimes it's really important just to pause and be like damn dog like look how much [ __ ] I've been through yeah pandemic survived that thing family everybody is hopefully safe everybody's good move to Virginia door to door yeah working with new companies moving back living with roommates now I'm in my own spot yeah like you can do whatever you want now bro yeah it's like congratulations for making it to the other side yeah I appreciate that so much um

[46:55]  yeah it's it's really cool man and even looking back to you know I look back to 2016 literally writing in a journal like you know by the time I'm 25 I'm gonna be making you know good money from this trading industry like I'm not gonna be a millionaire but I'm going to be making good money I've been working for this training company for two years it has supplemented my income that I was making from the forklift you know what I mean when I was 25 that was last I'm 25 right now but like that was last year when I like started to kick in and I was just like wow I another thing that I was just like wow you know you you you you you write it down you believe it and you just you gotta be tunnel vision you know that was eight years I've been day trading like you said it is not just overnight

[47:42]  now just these past two years am I working for a company you know what I mean but if I would have just picked it up and put it down and probably you know be looking for a job or still be knocking doors or you know whatever it may be so yeah I love to especially right now I love to look back even though you know it's good to do it real quick but then you know get your your mind on on the vision again yeah agree 100 yeah what is the what role because I want to hear you say eight years right often we don't recognize the compounding effects of work on a longer time Horizon right so when you're in the moment and you're like I've been grinding at this I've been doing this stuff every day the benefit hasn't hit yet how do you keep yourself kind of motivated to stay consistent because it's not the Peaks and valleys of motivation right some

[48:30]  days we feel jacked up we're ready to get after it right it's the days when we don't that are most important so how do you kind of frame that up in your mind to stay consistent and keep on the grind finding something that you really like you know is is important because I always saw you know the financial industry and specifically like trading when I got into it at an early age being 18 I was just like wow anybody can you know become a doctor why can't I become you know a professional day trader or you know make make this you know a at least a stream of income for myself right yeah and I can do my other things but I mean that that's I think the biggest thing is having something that you like and you're willing to no matter what if it's it's hard if you get knocked down still work

[49:18]  at it continuously you know yeah there's a I saw this thing on Instagram and I've reposted on LinkedIn it's like the difference between being at the same place at the end of the year and being 37 times better than where you said today is putting in one percent effort to improve each day yeah and like it's not easy to see that one percent compounding but when you put it over a long enough time Horizon like you got big results right exactly which is wild like I think today in our society we get so pumped up for the instantaneous gratification it's like microwave success baby microwave success that's the first time for that what does that mean yeah so that just means you know you you you're looking for you know you push the button 30 seconds and it's done it's warmed up you ready to eat you know people people want like you just said instant gratification but that's not life you know people don't you know just

[50:06]  walk in and get College degrees and you know a semester you have to go through the the arena you got to do what what what's asked of and I think that's for everything you had to do what was asked of to get to this point whether it was the the research the information the the networking right same thing with me I had to put in the groundwork to blow trading accounts lose my money understand that that hurt I didn't like that so maybe I should practice proper risk management you know what I mean go at it a little bit differently but yeah I mean I think I think that that microwave success is a big problem that that people look for everybody's looking for that that pill to shed the weight or you know everybody's looking for the um that course to make you the money and you know what I mean and you know 90

[50:53]  days you're gonna make five to six thousand to seven thousand dollars a month and it's like oh cool if it was just that easy you know what I mean like everybody everybody would literally do it so I mean that's that's a big thing in our in our society these days too you know when I hear you talk about like the course that gets you the guaranteed money at 90 days one of the biggest things I think that we fall victim to is realizing or is not recognizing that we are an entire picture of skill sets and when you add all of those skill sets up you become successful yeah so it's like not only the skill set of being consistent like we've talked about but the skill set of showing up every day the skill set of being a marketer the skill set of being an educator the skill set of being present and being able to present to people those are all skills that Compound on themselves yeah exactly but I feel like the microwaves success

[51:39]  model is like I just need one of these little columns that I can stand up on and I should be successful but you're not going to be you're not you know you never will be man that's wild that's a really good I'm gonna use that microwave yeah yeah so why don't you uh why don't you let us now kind of into the big picture of like what are we trying to do Financial education is huge but what does it mean what is the plan what is Chase Campbell's chasing right now I mean with my financial service business um like I said I I got to a point where I came back from Virginia I decided to you know go all in on that as well too working still working for the trading company as well though too but then that's when I was a field trainer you were actually one of my first yeah training appointments where I couldn't even run it right you had my trainer running and I was literally watching him

[52:26]  and seeing how what you know to educate people and ask the questions and things like that um so I got back and you know from April to 2022 to I think it was November I had put a lot of work in and I got promoted to my marketing director promotion which in basically what that means is I can you know now kind of broke her off and you know create a team for myself right so my big vision is to find more chases right I want to actually create a financial business of advisors and people who are willing to go out there and have the conversations and educate people about what we should have learned in high school so big Vision you know like I I say myself like my Mantra when I'm running and everything like I want to

[53:13]  have you know 100 licensed agents in in my firm and and really do something impactful in that industry and then ultimately just you know continue the course with you know my you know the within the trading industry and you know I work for you know a really cool company economy which is a software company and educational platform where you know we educate people on you know the different you know financial markets whether it be foreign exchange cryptocurrency stock options indices things like that and then we have products but you know being an asset is however I can to that company and making it you know grow to the next level so that's my big thing and then passion goals what I really want to do I'm a football coach youth football coach so one thing I wanted to put together and I'm trying to get some things in order for this summer is to create a summer football camp whether

[54:01]  it be like two weeks or whatever um that's just something that I feel like is another one of my superpowers is you know dealing with kids around that like five to ten year old range and kind of you know being a little you know showing them you know discipline and showing them hey you know football is not just you know Hopscotch and things like that like it there's there's little things that go into it and if you really want to you know take this to the next level then you know you you got to learn the the ins and outs of the game but uh yeah with that and then you know like I said I'm traveling has changed my life I've been to 19 countries when I was in high school at the school I was at they did like a Europe trip um but during the year that I graduated that was when a lot of the um like attacks were going on in Europe and stuff like that in like all the

[54:49]  different countries so they changed it to Australia and New Zealand Okay so little 17 year old Chase sold his car to go on that trip to go over for two weeks to fly to you know New Zealand and Australia yeah I don't know what it did flip the switch inside my body I was just like wow the little bowl that I grew up in in Las Vegas yeah there's so much more to experience I mean people are talking in different lingo and you know saying different words that we would never say here you know what I mean and driving on the opposite side of the road and I just I just realized there was so much more to experience and then obviously traveled Europe a lot but an ultimate goal of mine is to put together something and I haven't gotten too deep in this this is like major major Big Goal is kind of like I don't know if it's a non-profit or how how it needs to be but I wanna

[55:36]  help younger kids like I went was traveled and give them the opportunity to you know go on trips like that at a young age because it is super impactful you don't need to just you know graduate and just you know get to work or you know get to College like you can you know experience life a lot because like you said that is something that you can't you you can never take back right when I was knocking doors and I would tell people that you know you talk to people who were never never got out of Virginia you know and I talked to a lot of people now and even if I say in 19 countries they're like what like which is it's cool you know and it it makes me you know really realize that not a lot of people are doing that and however it is for me to impact you know kids like that like I was impacted I

[56:23]  want to be able to do that but obviously do it in a sense where it's like like these kids they have no shot to to do it not like you know your parent just doesn't want to like you know pay for it or whatever like you have zero percent chance of doing it you know here's a scholarship or whatever it is how like I said I'm trying to think of like the perfect plan but that's ultimately what I want to do is you know really help send kids to experience the world I mean because it's important you know what I mean like when you grow up and I had the same experience when I lived in South Carolina people would be like I've never been out of the county before exactly you know what I mean I'm like well you guys have never seen the world they're like I don't need to I'm like how do you how can you say that you know I mean there's so much like they don't even know that's what I mean they don't even know yeah that's the biggest thing but you get exposed exposure is huge you get

[57:12]  exposed to things at a young age that's when you're your mindset starts to to widen right and you're like huh maybe I can do this you know well you know I never thought I could go to you know Europe or Australia or maybe I can you know start that business maybe I can you know get that degree you know and really start pushing yourself so exposure is key and that's what you know I really want to do is it give that exposure to to travel for you know younger kids yeah I think that's beautiful I mean that exposure in itself challenges our limiting beliefs and so I want to use the next couple seconds here to kind of talk about when you guys are educating your community when it comes to finances one of my biggest lived experiences is we have pre-established beliefs about money and the role it plays in our life those are limiting those are like people with more money are bad you don't need money to do stuff

[58:00]  so like what are some of the early building blocks that you guys kind of have to knock down in order to get people to understand what role Finance should play in their life does that make sense kind of I mean it just kind of like you said people are you you get top money from from your parents I mean that's just where it comes from like if you had it then you're loose with it if you didn't then you were like oh well you know you're checking the the well you know meat is 59 cents cheaper at Albertsons compared to Smith's you know what I mean it's a completely different lifestyle you know so really getting people to expand their mind on money and not really think of everything as a bill and think of you know when you are investing into different you know set vehicles or

[58:48]  whatever the money's not poof you're not you know it's not a bill you know what I mean that you're you're utilizing your money in a smarter way so just creating a different relationship with money is really what what we do ultimately and expanding their mindset on it you know yeah because I mean like if you have any type of tool in your life it should benefit you right you should use the tool to create the outcome that you're looking for right from my perspective and I think a lot of people don't have that vision of money because it comes from you know a lot of people come from like a money scarcity mindset oh absolutely like there's not enough money to go around you need to protect this money and it seems like from a growth perspective you're never going to help something grow if you're always protecting it because you think there's not enough oxygen not enough money not enough fuel to help it grow absolutely I

[59:36]  mean that's a big one for it's like a big realization is like you have to have assets and things that continue to grow on their own because you can't consistently push all your energy into stuff one of the the best things that my my trainer says is if if all you ever do is make money you're going to have to make money forever yeah that is literally just the first step right you have to get to a point where you can make that money work for itself right and I think I just thought that that was you know beautiful when I heard that it's like it's true like if all I was like all you know I'm like at the forklift and everything like if all I was ever going to do was make that paycheck I was going to have to make that paycheck forever right whether you know I had a 401k or whatever which isn't the you know and I'll be all for your retirement you know but I mean I think it's just it's it's simple but very impactful you know if all you ever

[1:00:25]  do is make money you're gonna have to do it forever yeah I mean it's very true and it's just like you have to work at that so consistently to kind of reshape that framework that we have established and hardwired into us by our parents yeah you know I think about um like the generations of men that I've come from Great Grandpa was a chair Cropper literally traded all of his time for a sense of safety for his family to live on somebody else's land right right my grandfather born in the 30s right they didn't have an opportunity grinded to put his family on an opportunity to kind of have a better life my dad was the first person to make the jump and become an entrepreneur and have a lifestyle that so many of my other family members have not experienced yeah and I look at it as my role and responsibility as the lineage of men in my family tree to put together the best practices and also

[1:01:13]  learn from all the lessons and the mishaps that we've had financially to be able to put myself in a better situation absolutely you know what I mean like my dad as an example he like has a mentality with money I'm not saying this disrespectfully right but he's like more money will come you know what I'm saying and like my perspective is like I'm trying to build a foundation for the people who are behind me that they have the knowledge the education the vocabulary and the understanding of what role this money should play exactly because if somebody's doing better than me in the next Generation I've messed up and dropped the ball completely yeah you know what I'm saying and yeah I think that's uh you know one thing that I pride myself on as well too because you know obviously not having that Father Figure he chose you know the the drug life you know it's like well it's up to me now you know really to to be the one to change the the trajectory of you know

[1:02:01]  our financial well-being and our mindset about money and you know even just our mindset about life you know ultimately but um yeah I think that's big so with all the things that you've been through and this is kind of where I want to wrap up today's episode how are you dealing with the stresses of it all because being on your own is scary Taking Chances believing yourself is a stressful process how do you balance all of that for people who are like damn dude this Chase kid seems like he's Invincible like how do you kind of balance like the elements of stress and all the kind of self-imposed like limits upon ourselves I get hit in the chin you know what I mean just like everybody else you know but it's your habits at the end of the day you know and what your what you're doing on a I think you said it before on a daily basis right like I'm big on meditation right and being

[1:02:50]  present I'm big on journaling right and being grateful for the life that I have for you know waking up and you know God giving me the chance to even go after my dreams and goals another day right and I just think the consistency with with that is huge and um you know just just taking it day by day you know and just I think feeding yourself I think with those healthy habits you know going to the gym you know feeling you're never going to have a workout that you know you you leave a workout that you're like oh that was you know I feel terrible like nah you're gonna feel great you're gonna feel like you did something you're gonna walk out of there like maybe it wasn't you don't you're not a sore as you wanted to be but like you were in there burning calories you're you're doing something to better yourself and I think you said it again too is doing something that's

[1:03:38]  like that one percent better every day but yeah you gotta whether it's it's whatever Faith you have a god Buddha a universe whatever you you got to believe in something bigger than yourself ultimately and practice that yeah well I think that's an awesome place for us to kind of pause and wrap up I definitely want to have you back on the show but I just want to thank you absolutely really appreciate you man seriously
